Club Meeting, February 17, 2016.

Club Habits, 832 East 3900 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84107.

Meeting starts at 7:00pm sharp, but feel free to come early to meet other attendants, trade fish stories and have a bite to eat. Dinner menu and beverages available for those who desire. Bring 3 flies and receive 3 tickets to enter the Fly Drawing (or purchase tickets for $1.00). This evening’s program will be hosted by BFF member, Greg Branin. Greg’s tarpon permit bonefishpresentation will be “Fly Fishing the Flats…Beginners Luck!” He will be discussing his recent trip to Rob Mukai’s Fly Fishing Resort in Xcalak Mexico. Greg learned to tie flies before he learned to flyfish. His grandfather was an avid fly tier and fisherman. He got his first job tying bass and saltwater flies for a company called Edgewater in Clinton, UT in 1989 for the Mia brothers, Ed and Steve. Greg joined the military in 1994 and moved to California where he continued his love of flyfishing and tying saltwater flies. He has fished for over 40 species on a fly rod and recently attained a Flats Grand Slam in Xcalak Mexico. A flats grand slam is a Permit, Bonefish, and Tarpon in one day. He is excited to share the journey with you and some of the things that came together to make it all happen.
